Since the war, the population of this region have started moving away from electricity and focusing on other forms of renewable energy to sustain the technology without draining local resources, and solar energy is one of the two most common energy sources, alongside hydroelectricity.
Between the artisan tribe and the technician tribe, the solar suit was born--a marriage of functionality and fashion. While flashy, this particular type of flexible armor also serves a purpose, which is to harness sunlight as solar energy. There are currently a limited supply of around six hundred solar suits, but the artisans and technicians are working on making more as the need for renewable energy becomes prevalent in society. Unlike many of the resources in Gator Bay, the solar suit is not limited to specific tribes or classes, but rather to anyone who can offer the highest bid of trading goods and manual labor.
Despite the technology quite literally woven into the fabric, the solar suit is relatively lightweight for an item of it's kind, weighing roughly between 6lbs and 12lbs depending on the size of the wearer, as each suit can be custom made to fit the individual wearer.
